I enjoy reading your content and wanted to fill you in on the rest of the story.
Marty and Ray almost got into a brawl in 1993. Ray was working as an agent or producer at the time, and he questioned Marty in the locker room (who was half asleep) about being too fucked up to wrestle. I guess Marty didn't like it, and he stood up and got in Ray's face like he wanted to fight him.
Ray didn't want to get into trouble with Vince McMahon if something bad happened, so he ended up going to Vince to let him know what happened.
Ray told Vince he was going to knock Marty out in self-defense if necessary, and Vince told Ray to do what he had to do. Marty wisely calmed down and there was no further issue.
Marty was fired shortly thereafter.
