Scott,
I was watching the WM 1 main event last night, (sneaky good match by the way,) and it got me to thinking: Is this the most important match in wrestling history? It A: got wrestling mainstream publicity and B: the show was a success
based on that match which accomplished two things, made Wrestlemania into a yearly event, and, although in it’s infancy set the template for PPV.
I can be argued that the match itself wasn't really that important, it was the presence of Mr. T and Hulk Hogan. They could have been against someone else completely and you could pull it off. There's a far stronger argument to made for Hogan-Andre or even Hogan-Sheik.
