The Safety Triangle

By Scott Keith on 21 February 2022

Hey Scott,

Just watched Elimination Chamber and that Moss bump was very scary.

This isn’t a dig at WWE, AEW have had a fair few instances of their own pretty recently (Archer and MJF are two recent ones).

But a quite common element of safety in the workplace is the safety triangle, with the unsafe acts at the bottom and a fatality at the top.

The unsafe acts, near misses and minor incidents are adding up. My worry is are we heading for a series incident or god forbid a fatality in the ring.

My question is what is causing this, I think generally the wrestlers nowadays are better technically than they have ever been. Matches are laid out pretty well. So what is causing it, the pressure of performing? Lack of concentration?

I mean what in the world caused Moss to try take and take that bump like that?

I don't know, but astonishingly he was fine and there was no heat on anyone for the spot, but that's good at least.
