Mankind and Rock’s Adventures in Creative Booking

By Scott Keith on 23 August 2021

I've recently started watching all the WWF PPV's of the late 90's and noticed something interesting. Mankind and Rock wrestled for the WWF Championship at four straight PPV's, and all four matches featured a non-finish finish.

Survivor Series: McMahon rings the f'n bell
Rock Bottom: Rock passes out to the Mandible Claw, BUT HE DIDN'T SAY HE QUIT, SO HE RETAINS.
Royal Rumble: Mankind “Quits” via pre-recorded promo while laying dead in a pool of blood
St Valentine's Day Massacre: Double KO in the FIRST EVER Last Man Standing Match

Can you think of any other feud that produced so many matches with so many poorly designed finishes in similar succession?
To be fair, Mankind won clearly at Halftime Heat in there as well.
I’d also nominate Daniel Bryan and his battle with the Authority for some all time stinker finishes as well.
