Rise and Fall

Has there ever been this big of a disagreement between what the IWC feels about WWE and what everybody thinks about it? Like just going off wrestling media on twitter and places like this blog you think WWE's demise could be coming any day now and their programming has never been worse. Or the idea that AEW has more momentum than WWE heading into Summerslam weekend with probably one of the biggest main events in years? How is that a serious convo. If you are not on wrestling Twitter or wrestling sites AEW isn't even a thing people talk about. But the big deals and sponsorship opportunities just don't stop coming in for WWE every where you turn. MLB making wwe title belts, the Ringer and Spotify exclusive deals, tons of sponsorship for events like Summerslam, like is never been a better time to be in the WWE business. Poor Renee has to spend an awkward weekend covering summerslam because Collin Cowherds podcast network will be on-site like it is the superbowl. Everyone wants a piece of the action, especially this weekend.
It's probably not what diehard fans want to hear but maybe Vince is smart to not cater to them? That's probably why he doesn't care if the people he cuts goes to AEW because the way they present themselves they will never come close to the market share WWE has. WWE is a global brand, Twitter added Cena and Roman emojis for the weekend to show who's side your on. That's more than just being a wrestling show. What AEW has done in a short time is amazing and deserves respect, but is Vince really wrong to say they are not competition? It almost seems like one company is in the wrestling business and another is in global entertainment industry. And I don't think that's bad for either, but it seems like the IWC and AEW wants this to be a competition and WWE could care less. Does WWE make digs and do little things sure, but nothing close to the battles with WCW.
What made Vince scared about WCW was they actually made a dent in getting mainstream attention and huge sponsorships. You had Jay Leno, NFL and NBA players, UFC fighters, big Rock Stars at events, thats what keeps Vince up at night. Until AEW is getting media and sponsorships Vince wants it won't bother him. And honestly to think that this period is the worst Raw has ever been because of too many rematches is laughable. 2008-2013 raw would like to have a conversation with you. Terrible guest hosts, mystery gms, Del Rio being a thing, now that was a rough period in time.
Is anyone actually arguing the thing you're arguing is this just another thing where you make up a straw man argument?
