Rants

A week late, a dollar short.

By Scott Keith on 28 August 2019

I know everyone was talking about RVD last week so sorry if you're suck of talking about him, but I just got out of the kind of hospital where you can't have your cell phone so I've got three weeks of wrestling shit to catch up on. I haven't even watched Summerslam yet, and I'm avoiding spoilers like when I saw Endgame a month after it came out.

Anyway – Vince suspends Van Dam for pot while having sold a t-shirt that said "nobody gets higher than RVD." Where on the level of WWE hypocrisy does that fall, and for the (ugh) Otters, what are some other shining examples?

The suspension wasn't "for having pot", it was for a DUI that was hella-bad timing for everyone involved. Especially when they were trying to convert to a family friendly advertising model. WWE has been pretty lax on pot usage historically, with a minor fine for getting caught that guys call "the pot tax" but nothing really ever comes of it.

For me the worst example was Vince going on trial for steroid distribution and protesting how clean and drug-free his company was, just after spamming his programming with the very steroid-bloated freaks of the WBF. It's one thing for him to call out the feds for being incompetent boobs who somehow managed to not understand "jurisdiction" and "proof", but to act like his companies had been clean the entire time? Come on now.
