Hey Scott,
So, I get that Shane isn't the best technical wrestler on the roster, but why does everybody suddenly despise the guy?
Shane was an incredibly over and iconic figure from one of wrestling's hottest periods, a guy who took death-defying risks and put his body through hellish torment when he absolutely did NOT have to, all because he simply loved the business. He gets heat, like actual boos, not detached "This Is Awesome"-type heat. And honestly, he has been playing a pretty great delusional chickenshit heel in this "Best in the World" run. It's like a new Honky Tonk Man. I think it's great.
And if the issue is that people are blaming him for the ratings decline, I find that a little hypocritical. When guys like Seth Rollins or Kevin Owens are on top holding the World Titles, and the ratings tank, people blame the company and the booking. So why is it suddenly Shane's fault and not those other guys?
Because, and follow with me here, SHANE IS ONE OF THE OWNERS OF THE COMPANY.
