Was William Regal in for a big push in 2008 before he got busted on a Wellness Policy violation? He had just won King Of The Ring, and was doing a whole "G.M. running amok" deal.
That was indeed the rumor. He was even in line for a World title run, according to many. Given there was three of them at the time, it certainly was within the realm of possibility.
