Is there a more disappointing show in WWF history?
Watched it again and it's such a hot show coming out of the best show ever. Rocky, Austin, Vince, HHH – all four are drawing nuclear heat. Just off the charts. Opening segment is great. Austin's heel promo is $$$. Main event is Austin/Rock in a cage. How does it get better than that?
Of course, it's all wasted by the end when they choose by far the worst option with the 2-man Power Trip. Rock leaves. Austin fails as a heel. HHH gets hurt. And the Attitude era boom ends.
Yeah, they REALLY needed to have HHH just save Rock there and turn babyface to take his place against Austin. The people were ready for it, and Austin needed a strong babyface foil and Undertaker wasn't it.
