Alvarez with the most reasonable take on Asuka dropping the belt to Charlotte
By Scott Keith on 28 March 2019
He covers his point in the first five minutes. I often disagree with Alvarez and I was expecting his reaction to be the complete opposite, but he's right on the money when discussing the title change and circumstances surrounding it.
I'll add that I don't understand the narrative that Asuka is being buried and treated horribly. She won the first ever women's Royal Rumble, had a great title match with Charlotte at WM 34, beat both Charlotte and Becky to win the championship at TLC, tapped Becky out clean in the ring at RR, and has a whopping total of five televised losses since 2015. Also, is it really a big deal that Asuka won't be in a forgettable match at Wrestlemania 35 on a card full of them?
I'm sure you've gotten a handful of emails on this already, but what are your thoughts on the whole thing?
I'm all for titles being made more important, not defended on pre-shows against fucking Mandy Rose or Billie Kay. Asuka was completely wasted as champion anyway, so you might as well use it to heat up the main event some more.
