Squash Match Format

Are you surprised that the WWE didn't bring back the squash match format to their shows once WCW went under 18 years ago? I mean, I know they obviously can't do wall to wall squash matches for 5 hours a week for obvious reasons, but are you curious that there aren't more of them? I just always assumed this to be the case because they are scared of losing viewers,(or should I say more viewers), and/or they want to kill a lot of time on their shows by putting on 10-20 minute matches.
Both are exactly correct. Once the toothpaste was out of the tube on the squash match front, it wasn't going back in. Unfortunately a lot of the TV's format is dictated by USA Network, and star-driven matches are what they demand.
