Most people will agree that Wrestlemania III holds the gold standard for 'epic' main event, not in terms of workrate, but just the sheer awesomeness of the marquee. Yes, Hogan-Warrior was awesome, as was DB's triple threat
win, but Hogan-Andre still has to be the top of the list. However…
Had Vince not lost his mind entirely, for Wrestlemania VIII we could have seen Hogan/Flair on the grandest stage of them all. I know, people have been muttering about this for decades, but my question is this: Would Hogan/Flair
have topped Hogan/Andre as THE epic main event in Wrestlemania history?
Nope. Wasn’t gonna happen anyway, because who do you put over? Hogan? He’s leaving after the show and doesn’t need to win the title. Flair? Yeah right. You’re just gonna get a shitty DQ finish anyway, so we’re better off keeping them apart in that instance.
