Bret Hart Lawsuit

You mentioned in an earlier post about Bret Hart's creative control in relation to the Screwjob.
Wouldn't Bret have legal precedence to file a lawsuit against Vince for breaking the contract with a bit of defamation of character or did he not bother since it woild cause too much trouble with WCW?

Yes, Bret could have pursued legal action for breach of contract, but he also punched Vince in the face, on camera, so as I understand it, everyone just kind of decided to let it go in exchange for Vince not pursuing charges for that. I’m Plus it would have taken years in the legal system to resolve everything anyway.
