The SmarK Rant for WWE Money in the Bank 2026 – 10.10.26
2026 hasn’t exactly left a lot of money in our banks, am I right?
Live from New Orleans, LA
Your hosts are Michael Cole & Corey Graves
WWE World title: Roman Reigns v. LA Knight
Knight certainly gets the bigger reaction tonight, so Roman decides to play heel. Roman overpowers him, but LA fires back with his own shoulderblock and puts him on the floor. Back in the ring, Knight puts him in a headlock, but Roman hiptosses out of it. Knight blocks another one with a clothesline and slugs away in the corner, but Roman comes back with a leaping clothesline and a bunch of corner clotheslines to set up a big boot. Knight comes back with an atomic drop and the neckbreaker out of the corner before sending Roman to the floor again for a trip to the post. LA preps the announce table, but Roman runs him into the post to put a stop to that. Back in the ring, Roman puts the boots to him and chokes away in the corner, just doing a slow old school heel moveset to work him over. Knight fights back with a legsweep and the snap powerslam, and Knight drops an elbow for two. Knight gives back the choking in the corner, but walks into the superman punch and it gets two for Reigns. He tries to follow with the spear, but he misses and hits the post. They fight to the top and Knight brings him down with a superplex and hits a Burning Hammer for two. Roman escapes the BFT, but Knight gets an inverted DDT. Roman comes back with the uranage for two. Back to the floor and Knight runs him into the stairs and they slug it out before beating the count at the same time. Roman puts him down with another superman punch, but LA counters the spear into the BFT for two. Knight slugs away while talking some trash and then decides to do his own spear, but Roman hits his own for two. That probably should have been the finish unless they have something really big planned. So Roman talks his own trash while hitting him with punches, dedicating it to the Bloodline, but Knight gets his own spear for two. Back to the floor, where Knight charges and walks into another superman punch, but Reigns charges and goes through the railing. Knight powerbombs him through the table after nearly dropping him on his head on the first try, and back in the ring for the flying elbow, which gets two. Maybe he should stop saying his own name before every move. Might help. Roman counters the BFT by crotching him on the top rope, and hits another superman punch, but Knight won’t go down, so he hits a second one. And the spear finishes at 26:50. Match had incredible heat from start to finish, which made it a lot better than it had any right to be. It took a while to get going but they had great drama with the near-falls at the end, even if Knight never really seemed like a serious threat to beat him. ****1/4
Afterwards, Royce Keys and his crew show up to talk shit, but the Usos and Solo surprise them and they all brawl into the concourse before heading out into the parking lot, where the 946 guys retreat and drive away.
Money in the Bank: Tiffany Stratton v. Sol Ruca v. Lola Vice v. Roxanne Perez v. Jacy Jayne v. Lash Legend
Lash throws some smaller women around to start and they all head to the floor, where Tiffy dives off the top of a ladder with a swanton and smashes the back of her head into the floor on the way down. Oh damn that was terrifying. She couldn’t get any rotation off the ladder and landed short of the pile. So in the ring, Jacy goes for the ladder, but Tiffany somehow is still alive and makes the save. Lola runs wild with kicks on Tiffany and Jayne, but Roxanne beats on her with a stepladder until Legend boots it in her face. Ruca and Stratton do some wacky gymnastics, but Jayne takes them both out. Perez manages to stack up Lash and Ruca on a ladder and moonsaults them. She sets up a ladder, which takes forever, , but Tiffany takes her down and slugs it out with Ruca on top of the ladder. Perez pushes them over, but Sol hangs onto the briefcase before dropping onto the pile as everyone is down. Lash beats on everyone again and makes the climb, but Ruca blocks her and they awkwardly head back down again. This leaves Legend on a ladder bridge outside, and Ruca puts her through with a splash. This leaves Jacy alone with the briefcase, but Lola Vice stops her with a choke, and they both fall onto a ladder bridge and land on the floor. Roxanne hits Tiffany with Pop Rocks, but Ruca hits her with the Sol Snatcher off the ladder. And then Lash powerbombs Sol on the ladder, but she climbs up and Tiffany cuts her off, hits her with the briefcase, and claims it for the win at 15:26. Man they had a tall order following the opener, so I guess they decided to go out and have the most ridiculously dangerous car wreck they could. I wasn’t GOOD as such, but you couldn’t look away from it. And it worked to get the crowd into it, so good on them, I suppose. Although I wasn’t particularly invested in anything in the match other than hoping no one died. But holy shit I don’t know how Stratton wasn’t concussed after that swanton. I dunno, I have complicated feelings on this one. It was kind of terrible and kind of great and I’m leaning towards great, mostly. ****
Bronson Reed v. Oba Femi
Goddamn, Reed has lost so much weight he looks more like Kevin Owens now. They do some mean guy stuff to start and fight over a suplex, and Oba wins that battle. Reed bails to buy some time and they slug it out on the apron until Reed puts him down with a back suplex. Reed hits him with a dive and back into the ring for a senton series that gets two. Reed cannonballs him for two. They slug it out and Reed counters a slam for two. Reed goes up and Femi rolls out of the way, but Bronson splashes him in the corner instead and adds a DDT. Reed goes up and misses the splash and Femi makes the comeback with a spinebuster for two. So this brings out Logan Paul and Austin Theory, allowing Reed to load up with a pair of brass knuckles and knock him out. Tsunami gets two off that. Moonsault misses and Femi hits him with the tossing slam and finishes with the powerbomb at 11:30. This was kind of a weird direction for Femi after the main eventing trilogy with Brock Lesnar, as it mostly felt like a midcard match with Femi selling for the midcard Reed for 10 minutes and then making the comeback. It was fine. **1/2
WWE Women’s World title: Stephanie Vaquer v. Liv Morgan v. Becky Lynch
Vaquer hits Liv with a suplex out of the corner, but Becky breaks up the Devil’s Kiss and sends Stephanie to the floor. Back in the ring, Vaquer rolls up Becky for two and they head to the floor, where Vaquer hits them both with a dive. And then Liv powerbombs Becky off the apron. Back in the ring, Liv with the suplexes on Vaquer, and the running boot gets two. Vaquer comes back with the Devil’s Kiss, and then for some reason the match completely falls apart and it looks like Stephanie hurt herself somewhere as they stumble around. Becky pulls it together with a double DDT on the other two and goes out to find a table. Lynch and Vaquer team up for a suplex on Liv and set up the SLIM JIMS TABLE, but they all head back into the ring and fight over a suplex as it completely falls apart again until Liv gets a dropkick on Vaquer for two. Vaquer with a neckbreaker for two. Becky goes to the top and Liv brings her down and then puts Stephanie in a half crab. Vaquer counters into her own crab while Lynch adds an armbar at the same time. So they slug it out until Becky hits Liv with the uranage for two. Becky and Stephanie fight in the corner and Vaquer tries a hanging armbar, but they fall to the floor as everything is just going wrong for them. Back in the ring, Vaquer moonsaults Liv for two and Becky pulls out the ref to save. They fight back into the ring as the crowd cheers for the table. Vaquer superkicks Becky off the apron and onto the table, which doesn’t break because OF COURSE it doesn’t, and Liv hits Vaquer with Oblivion out of nowhere to regain the title at 17:00. This started bad and just never recovered. *1/2
Money in the Bank: CM Punk v. Bron Breakker v. Trick Williams v. Je’Von Evans v. Kevin Owens v. Penta
Trick manages to clear the ring and brings the first ladder in, but Punk dives onto him and then slug it out with KO out there. Penta flies onto Punk with the tope, but Bron throws everyone around with suplexes and runs Owens into the ladder. Penta tosses him but he’s limping around and Punk hits him with a knee in the corner. Owens drops Punk onto the ladder and then hits Bron with a cannonball in the corner. Penta tries the driver on Punk, but Bron suplexes both guys. Evans sneaks up the ladder, but Owens saves and then goes after Punk and takes out his knee. Bron throws everyone around and won’t let anyone climb the ladder. They all fight to the floor and brawl out there, but Bron spears Evans into the railing while he’s running around the ring. The announcers are selling it like some devastating injury and all the officials check on him but it was just a spear on the floor so I’m not really sure what the threat was. Back in the ring, Bron and Punk fight on the ladder and fall down off a legsweep while Evans goes out on s stretcher. From a spear? We’re supposed to take that seriously as a career-threatening injury while Penta has Punk hanging upside in the ladder and is kicking him in the face? Owens stomps on Punk’s nuts and everyone is down while Evans gets loaded into an ambulance and taken away. Bron continues hitting everyone as this thing is just DYING and going nowhere. Trick makes the climb, but KO brings him down with a stunner and then takes out Lil Tugboat with a stunner and makes the climb, but Punk saves and fights with Penta until hitting a GTS. Punk and Owens continue their battle, but Bron spears both of them and then spears Penta on the floor as well. Uh oh, guess Penta has to go out on a stretcher and be taken away in an ambulance, too. And then Bron spears Punk and Owens through the railing, so I guess they’re gonna go out on a stretcher, too. Better call a second ambulance. And on cue, another ambulance drives into the arena to presumably take everyone away, and it’s helpful enough to drive all the way up to the ring, revealing that Stone Cold Je’Von Evans has recovered from his previous spear and stolen it. So he makes the comeback despite his previous crippling injury that was described as “breaking every bone in his body” by the announcers, so that’s pretty impressive I guess. He runs wild on everyone and messes around with the ladders until deciding on a gigantic ladder to make the climb. Shit like this is why the match has no momentum to it. Bron brings him down for a lungblower, but he crisses too many crosses and Evans hits him with a kick and then climbs the giant ladder again. Which is nowhere near the briefcase now, by the way. So Bron pushes him over and Je’Von goes through the roof of the ambulance, which is apparently made out of balsa wood with a crash pad underneath, like all ambulance roofs are. I saw it on Chicago Med. This leaves Bron to make the climb alone as I have no idea where the other 5 people in the match have vanished to for the past 5 minutes, and finally Penta is the one who figures out that someone should probably stop Bron from climbing. So he sets up a ladder bridge and hits a destroyer onto that. Penta is left alone and climbs up to win the briefcase at 32:00. Didn’t he just lose his title shot to Roman Reigns in Mexico? Well good for him anyway, he’s awesome. This match was NOT awesome and in fact I kind of hated it. Also was Trick Williams even in the match? The whole Evans angle was insulting and just set up a stupid stuntman bump and the match itself was WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too long and the old guys looked gassed by the end. I guess they were getting oxygen on the floor and that’s why none of them could save. **
Not a horrible show, although really the only things you need to see are the overdelivering Roman-LA match and women’s ladder match. The rest was just kind of there for me, but two **** matches on a Netflix show is enough for a thumbs up.
