Radicalz departure from WCW

What really happened that lead to the mass exodus with the Radicalz from WCW in early 2000? I had always heard that after Vince Russo was sent home as the head of creative and Kevin Sullivan replaced him, the 4 knew that Sullivan would be much worse and asked for their releases. Is that correct, or is there more or less to it?


Yup. Benoit was Sullivan’s job boy when Kevin was booker and he knew he’d never get a fair shake because of the whole Nancy situation. Even more reportedly asked for their release (Shane Douglas most notably if I’m remembering correctly) but WWE only had interest in the Radicalz so they were the only ones to actually take the release and leave. WCW was fucking stupid to ever let them go, obviously.
