Clash of the Champions

Was there any particular reason WCW didn't run a Clash of the Champions in the spring during the early 90s? It created a long stretch between Superbrawl in February and Slamboree in May with no supercard.
Because WCW was hemorrhaging money and those shows cost a lot of money for TBS to produce. Especially with ratings going into the toilet, it’s an easy expense to cut.
