Hogan’s 1998 WCW Title Run

Everyone knew Sting was winning the WCW Title from Hogan at Starrcade 97, but due to all the screw-ups they wound up vacating the the title with Sting winning it back at Superbrawl 98. But 2 months later, Hogan regained the title (From Macho Man). Was that because Sting wasn’t drawing as champion only 2 months in?

Also once Hogan won the belt back, before the sudden decision to drop the belt to Goldberg, did WCW have an idea of who the next champion would be? Was there ever talk of DDP winning the title from Hogan?

​Sting was never going to be the long-term solution as champion and I think everyone figured that out as soon as he got the title and was a complete flop with it.

And no, never heard about DDP being in consideration to get the title in 98. He was pretty over, but not THAT over. ​
