Can’t GIVE these tickets away…

Hi Scott,

So in reference to what you said about they'd have to give out tickets. I always hear about comps and free tickets and such. How does that work? Who gets the tickets, etc? I'd love to go see Raw sometimes and I live twenty blocks from Barclays. So if they ever DID give out tickets to the show, I could do it. But how does it work?

Usually they give huge blocks of tickets to radio stations and they just give them away 4 at a time. What also works well is just hanging out by the ticket offices on the day of the show, and if it's a TV taping they'll usually have someone just standing there offering tickets to people. That's how I got the Shane McMahon tickets for the Calgary RAW in 2004, for example. Depends on the market, really. If a TV taping is selling well, they don't need to give away tickets. Or sometimes they got creative, like with the first Survivor Series, where they gave thousands of free tickets to underprivileged kids clubs to make sure the arena was full for PPV and filled with crazy excited kids.
