Was the Summer of 1998 the hottest time for wrestling in terms of attendance and money?

WWF Summerslam did a big-ass buyrate, Bash At The Beach had Malone, Rodman and the 2nd biggest WCW buy-rate ever and according to Dreamer, the most profitable tour ECW ever did was the Sandman, Dreamer and LSD vs. Dudleys feud around this time.

Aw, thanks Maffew. I’d say as an overall business with all of WCW, WWF and ECW counted, yes. For WWF specifically, 2000 was by far the most profitable year they’ve ever had, and they’d have been swimming in literal pools of money had Vince not killed himself with the XFL.
