Austin vs Rock 2001 Mania Rematch

Obviously The Invasion and all that it entailed made 2001 a weird as hell year, but is there any reason we never really got a proper rematch between a now heel Austin and The Rock post Mania 17.

Yes, there was one the short match the night after and then Rocky was gone for the Spring, but wouldn’t that feud, inversed from years prior, been a draw? Or maybe make the Austin heel run a hotter angle?

Well Rock was off being Scorpion King, but yeah, it would have been pretty badass.
