Higher power/ no show

I’m sure you answered this. Was it supposed to be Vince the whole time. Just saw a clip and it got me thinking. Thanks

When a guy no showed. What was the reason? Money? Drugs? Buddy Landel no showed everyone. Did he really think that he was good enough to keep getting a job?
