Banned Words/Phrases In The WWE?

By Scott Keith on 5 May 2017

So I’ve heard the phrase "title shot" is now banned in WWE speak to read "title opportunity", sort of like how hospital or emergency room is "medical facility" Why in the hell does Vince constantly do this with seemingly benign words or phrases? Is he afraid of offending advertisers to the point he goes crazy P.C. or something?

The hospital thing was because he felt it sounds too violent, although he’s retracted that one as of late. "Belt" was always a no-no word because it’s a "championship" or "title". You couldn’t say "fans" or "crowd", it was "WWE Universe" for a long time.

Hot take: Vince is kind of crazy. There’s no solid reasoning behind most of them, it’s just stuff he does.
