Did Vince really guarantee Sid a Mania 8 main event with hogan? The rumors always were Flair/Hogan until house shows bombed. So what’s the real story. Was hogan/Sid set in stone since April 91?

It seems likely was Sid-Hogan was indeed set in stone. Getting Flair was just a happy accident, but realistically they couldn’t use him until September anyway and you need a BUNCH of lead time to get all the advertising and buildup set.

Now, that being said, why the hell they would bring in Sid as a #2 babyface and then only turn him a month before Wrestlemania is the more important question. He should have been killing guys left and right starting right after his debut at Summerslam. ​
