Bret Hart After Wrestlemania 13

So, Bret comes out and whines. They do the whole summer sorry where he wins the title back. Why do that when he’s leaving? Was there really a thought by Vince that he was staying? He had to know by then that he couldn’t pay that huge contract. When did Bret talk himself out of a job?

​Vince put the title on him because Bret was red hot as a heel at that point and Taker wasn’t, and you gotta follow the money. Had he known that Shawn and Taker would immediately ignite business with their feud and Shawn would blow up as a super-heel, maybe he wouldn’t have done it, but I can definitely see where the business decision came from at the time. ​
