Wrestling Observer Awards Early 90’s/All Japan Women

Looking over the Wrestling Observer awards from the early 90’s and there’s a lot of love for All Japan Women. They had wrestlers finishing in the top 5 in most outstanding wrestlers, best promotions, etc.. Is this something worth checking out? I remember Herb Kunze talking them up like crazy in his newsletters back then.

I actually hung out with Herb when he was visiting Edmonton for a teaching symposium in 93, and he showed me a SHITLOAD of All Japan Women, and yeah, it was pretty great stuff. I’m pretty sure I accumulated tons of it over the years, but can’t remember specifics anymore. That being said, yes, it’s totally worth checking out, especially if you’ve watched something like the Jumping Bomb Angels or today’s NXT women and wondered what an entire promotion booked like that would be like.
