Question for your Blog – Bossman

By Scott Keith on 7 September 2015

What do you think Vince McMahon’s plans for the Big Bossman would have been had he of stayed in the WWF? He took a break in the summer of 1992 to sell his injuries from Nailz, and then once that feud was aborted that fall he hung around for a few months, jobbing to Bam Bam Bigelow and Yokozuna before leaving shortly after Royal Rumble 1993. Do you know what the reason was for his departure? Was his contract up or was McMahon just phasing him out?

Had he of stuck around, do you think he would have been included as one of the leaders of the "New Generation," or would McMahon would have put him out to pasture like he did with Savage, Duggan, etc? Maybe he could have taken a break that summer of 93, and then come back that fall to be a house show/ TV challenger to Yokozuna? And then in 94/95, he could have turned heel again and been a title challenger to Bret Hart and/ or Diesel? Do you think that would have worked or was his act getting too stale by then?

I think he just got a better offer from WCW under the "sign everyone associated with WWF" program they had going at the time, which is fine because he was getting stale in the WWF anyway. I’m pretty sure Vince would have put him out to pasture, especially with the way guys like Diesel and Razor were coming in to take over his spot.
