Demos & WM7

What was the deal with Demolition fighting Kitao & Tenryu at WM7? And Losing? I get that Demos were on their way out but why not have them putting over someone meaningful. Hell, LoD were RIGHT THERE squashing P&G for God knows what reason. Why not switch the order, have LoD crush the Demos to prove who the real deals were and have the K&T fight P&G in a meaningless match if you just needed to put them on the card? Or put Face of Fear with K&T, have P&G with the Rockers, who they had decent chemistry with, and do LoD/Demo.

I guess my real question is: Kitao & Tenryu? What?

​It was part of deal they had going with the SWS disaster around the time of their relationship, such as it was, where they’d agree to use Japanese talent​ at Wrestlemania, even though they didn’t particularly care. I never really got what the WWF got out of shipping Hogan and Warrior over to Japan for those shows, especially when all they were getting in return was Tenryu for a 2 minute squash win over Demolition. And yeah, there was a lot of different ways they could have gone with that Wrestlemania that might have sucked a lot less, although by then Smash and Crush were on their last legs as a part of that team anyway, so who really cared if they got squashed?
