WWE To Run New PPV Head To Head Against AEW All Out In September

It has been reported that WWE is set to run head-to-head against AEW’s All Out pay-per-view on September 20 by reviving a classic ECW PPV.

PWI Insider reported that WWE have had discussions to have a previously reported pay-per-view, which would take place on September 20, could air on ESPN to act as a sort of preview to the type of programming they would bring to ESPN. It was also reported that they will reveal the name of the currently unannounced pay-per-view and where it will air later this week.

Earlier today, Wrestlevotes posted to Twitter to post a hint that the upcoming WWE pay-per-view is likely going to be named “Wrestlepalooza” after the iconic ECW pay-per-view, which was held four times (1995, 1997, 1998, 2000), with the 1997 edition seeing the iconic Tommy Dreamer vs. Raven Loser Leaves ECW Match.

What Match Is Reportedly Going To Be The Main Event For WWE’s Upcoming PPV?

It has also been reported that the likely main event for this upcoming September PPV will be the highly anticipated Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena match after their feud was reignited at the end of SummerSlam Night 2, when a returning Lesnar laid out Cena with an F5 in his first appearance with the company in almost 2 years, having last competed at SummerSlam in 2023.

This would also be Lesnar’s first match since he was named in the ongoing Janel Grant/Vince McMahon sex trafficking lawsuit.
