Several major names connected to WWE and TKO Group Holdings, including Vince McMahon and Triple H, are expected to testify when the WWE shareholder lawsuit heads to trial on June 8 in Delaware.
According to a report from Brandon Thurston of POST Wrestling, Vince McMahon, Nick Khan, Paul Levesque, Ari Emanuel and Mark Shapiro are among those scheduled to appear as witnesses.
The lawsuit was filed by WWE shareholders who allege that the process surrounding WWE’s merger with UFC to form TKO was structured to allow McMahon to maintain power within the company. The shareholders argue that the process prevented WWE from achieving the maximum possible sale value.
Vince McMahon remained involved in WWE leadership until January 2024, when he resigned following Janel Grant’s lawsuit.
Additional names expected to testify include former WWE executives and board members George Barrios, Michelle Wilson, and Frank Riddick; former board member Steve Koonin; banker Jeff Sine; TKO CFO Andrew Schleimer; and TKO chief strategy officer Mark Zhu.
The report also noted that some witnesses may testify live, while others may appear via video or through previously recorded depositions. Former WWE board members Stephanie McMahon, Jeffrey Speed and Steve Pamon are reportedly expected to appear in that capacity.
Liberty Media CEO Marty Patterson is also listed as a witness after Liberty Media was previously involved in bidding for WWE during the sale process.
Despite the witness list being finalised, the possibility reportedly still remains that the lawsuit could be settled either before the trial begins or after proceedings get underway.
