Rey Mysterio Believes This Is The Perfect Time To Become A Wrestler

Rey Mysterio has praised the current era of wrestling and wishes he were just breaking into the business.
Having debuted in 1989 at the age of 14, Rey Mysterio has spent over three decades in pro wrestling. The innovative star has wowed crowds around the world as part of AAA, WCW, and WWE, and has seen some of the best and worst periods of wrestling in that time.
Having come through some rough times, WWE is now in its most profitable period in history, bolstered by huge deals with the likes of Netflix and ESPN. During a recent appearance on Brown Bag Mornings, Mysterio was asked how he feels about where the wrestling business is now, and the three-time World Champion said he wished he were just breaking into it in this era.
“The exposure is incredible. The evolution of the sport, and not just wrestling, in general, the evolution of many things takes you to bigger and higher situations.
“If I could be reborn again, I would pick now as the perfect time to become a wrestler. I wish I was 20 years old and just breaking into the business, but I’m enjoying it.”
Rey Mysterio Thinks Pro Wrestling Is Being Exposed In A Respectful Way
Continuing, Mysterio spoke about how the world of wrestling is being exposed, but believes it has been done respectfully.
I really enjoyed the amount of time that I put into this business, and to see now the new generation of what they’re doing and how everything is being exposed and in such a cool way; it’s not disrespectful, it’s in a cool way. Fans know and fans appreciate that, too. So it’s a beautiful thing.”
