Mercedes Mone To Defend TBS Championship At AEW Forbidden Door
By Conor Renshaw on 6 August 2025
Mercedes Mone will be in action at AEW Forbidden Door with her TBS Title on the line after a new number one contender was crowned last night on Dynamite.
Last night on Dynamite, Alex Windsor, with Toni Storm in her corner, won a number one contender’s four-way match, defeating Billie Starkz, Queen Aminata, and Skye Blue, to earn her right to face Mercedes Mone at Forbidden Door on August 24 in London, England, for the TBS Championship. Mone has held the TBS Title since May 26, 2024, when she won the belt from Willow Nightingale at Double or Nothing.
Following Windsor’s win, Mone came down to the ring to confront her before Storm got into the ring to back up Windsor. But as Storm stood ready to get physical with Mone, Athena climbed the top rope and delivered an O-Face to Storm, and as Windsor went to check on her, Mone delivered a Backstabber to her, leaving both women lying in the middle of the ring.
Besides Mercedes Mone, Who Else Is Putting Their Titles On The Line At Forbidden Door?
Besides Mercedes Mone’s TBS Title match, The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) will defend their AEW World Tag Team Championship against a team yet to be decided, Kazuchika Okada’s Unified Title is on the line against Swerve Strickland, and Toni Storm will face Athena for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Hiroshi Tanahashi will also be in action at Forbidden Door against an opponent who has yet to be named.
So, who do you think will walk away from Forbidden Door as TBS Champion? Will Athena and Toni Storm be involved in the match after this angle on Dynamite? And which match are you looking forward to most at Forbidden Door?
