Judge Rules in Janel Grant’s Favour In Lawsuit Against WWE Doctor Carlon Colker

By Conor Renshaw on 8 July 2025

An update has been provided on the ongoing discovery battle between Janel Grant and Dr. Carlon Colker, and this week, it tilted slightly in her favour.

Yesterday, Judge Colleen Zingaro of the Connecticut Superior Court ruled in favour of Grant’s bill of discovery against WWE doctor Carlon Colker and Peak Wellness, ordering both sides to submit proposed scheduling orders for the next steps. In short, some of Grant’s requests to obtain key information are moving forward.

Here's the ruling from Judge Colleen Zingaro.

If you haven’t been keeping up with all the goings on in this lawsuit, here’s the gist: Grant is seeking medical records and documentation tied to her treatment at Peak Wellness, a clinic where she alleges she received unapproved substances that played a role in her abuse and manipulation by Vince McMahon. Her legal team argues that these treatments enabled McMahon’s control over her and that Peak Wellness hasn’t been transparent about the full scope of her care.

The discovery battle got messier last month when Grant’s team expanded its scope, as they requested communications and materials from WWE and McMahon himself, including board memos, NDA drafts, and any documents reviewed by federal investigators. One specific focus was communications between McMahon and Dr. Colker.

How Did WWE And Vince McMahon Respond To The Discovery Request?

WWE and McMahon weren’t thrilled. They quickly filed an appeal to block that discovery request, aiming to keep those documents off-limits.

Back in May, Dr. Colker responded by countersuing Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis and her law firm for defamation, claiming that all relevant records had already been provided and that his name was being dragged unfairly, and he’s now seeking punitive damages.

What do you think about this latest ruling? Will this be a turning point for the case, or just another chapter in a very long and complicated legal battle? And when everything is said and done, do you think McMahon will be found guilty of his alleged misdoings?

Let’s hear your take below!
