Andrade El Idolo Claims He Always Leaves Promotions On Good Terms

Andrade El Idolo advises young wrestlers never to speak badly about companies they’ve worked for.

On September 13th, Andrade was released from his WWE contract, less than two years after his return to the company. It later transpired that the star was let go due to multiple violations of the company’s Wellness Policy.

Less than three weeks later, Andrade shocked fans when he returned to AEW, avoiding the usual 90-day no-compete clause normally standard in WWE contracts. On the October 1st edition of Dynamite, he attacked Kenny Omega and joined the Don Callis Family, potentially setting him up for big things in the company.

Despite rumours to the contrary, Andrade recently explained that he left AEW on good terms in 2023, having made a point to speak to Tony Khan and thank him for the opportunity he provided.

On October 3rd, Andrade El Idolo returned to The Crash, an independent promotion in Tijuana, Mexico. There, he answered an open challenge from DMT Azul and defeated him to capture The Crash Heavyweight Championship.

Speaking to TJ Sports, Andrade spoke of the importance Tijuana holds for him, naming the legends he saw wrestling in the city.

“Tijuana is an important place to me. Since the era of Rey Mysterio, Hijo del Santo, La Parka, Super Parka (Volador), I remember seeing them in magazines. Today, I’m headlining big shows coming back here. As you say, when I left WWE (in 2021), my first appearance was here in Tijuana. I’m very grateful to The Crash for giving me the opportunity. My advice to the younger stars is to never speak badly about the companies. I’ve always left most companies on good terms.

Andrade continued, saying he left WWE and AEW on good terms as well as a whole host of other promotions.

“I left WWE on good terms, AEW on good terms, The Crash on good terms, CMLL on good terms, and AAA on good terms. Tomorrow we may return, so I tell all wrestlers not to speak ill of the companies, because they will always be there. Wrestlers come and go, we get hurt, we die, but wrestling goes on. I was young and occasionally spoke about companies, but I have always respected all of them, from AAA, The Crash, CMLL, which was my home for a long time, to AEW, WWE, and NJPW.

“I have never had the opportunity to wrestle, but I respect all companies. The Crash allowed me to have my first match (after leaving WWE), and I am grateful to Tijuana, its people, and all the wrestlers who have welcomed me. Once again, thank you very much, The Crash. I will represent this championship (The Crash World Heavyweight Championship).”
