Andrade Released By WWE For “Disciplinary Issues”
By Conor Renshaw on 15 September 2025
It has been reported that Andrade’s September 13 release from WWE was due to a “disciplinary issue.”
Dave Meltzer spoke about Andrade’s recent release from WWE on the Wrestling Observer Radio and said that he heard from his sources within the company that the Mexican star was let go due to a disciplinary violation at a TV shoot a few weeks ago. Meltzer stated:
“I’ve seen all the speculation everywhere and I don’t know the whole story but I do know it was a discipline thing. It was not his doing at all. A couple of weeks ago there was a disciplinary thing and all I know is it was at a TV shoot and he was told to go home and he’s not been used since. I was told it was not drug related, it was not alcohol related, it was not marriage related. Nobody would tell me what it was, but it was enough to be sent home.”
It is currently not known exactly what the issue was that was severe enough to warrant Andrade’s release from the company; there has been some speculation that it may have been related to WWE wanting him to compete in AAA following their acquisition of the Mexican promotion.
How Long Was Andrade With The WWE?
Andrade rejoined WWE for his second stint in January 2024, meaning he has only spent just short of one year and eight months with the company in his return run. He previously joined WWE in 2015, where he competed in NXT before joining the main roster in 2018 and remained on the main roster until he requested his release in 2021.
He then joined AEW, debuting on the June 4, 2021, episode of Dynamite and remained with AEW until his contract expired in 2023.
What do you think about Andrade’s recent WWE release? Do you think there was a serious incident that forced the company’s hand? Or just some creative differences that led to his departure?
