AJ Styles Responds To John Cena’s Call For One More Match

AJ Styles wants to face John Cena one more time before the 17-time World Champion retires.

At the end of 2025, John Cena will hang up his boots for the last time. In the past few months, Cena has faced both new and old faces, with matches against Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Logan Paul.

Most recently, the legendary star was defeated by a returning Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza, with The Beast Incarnate destroying Cena and getting the victory in under 10 minutes. As he recovers from the loss, Cena has already set his sights on his next opponent, AJ Styles.

Styles and Cena had multiple matches between 2016-2018, with many fans regarding the bouts as some of the best in Cena’s storied career. On Monday, Cena took to social media to ask fans their opinion on one last match between the two, and the Cenation responded positively to the idea.

Cena followed up, saying he always listens to the fans, and then asked Styles and WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H if they were listening too.

“I do not choose my opponents, but I (even through tough times) ALWAYS listen to the fans.

AJ Styles Is Ready To Face John Cena

Cena didn’t have to wait long for a response from AJ Styles, who says he’s ready for the bout.

“I hear them loud and clear. Let’s do it, I’m ready!”

John Cena only has five dates left on his retirement tour, with his next appearance planned for October 11th at Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia. Styles could be winding down as well, with it being reported in July that The Phenomenal One signed a one-year extension to his WWE deal earlier this year.
