AJ Styles Re-Signs With WWE As Another Star’s Contract Nears Expiry
By Conor Renshaw on 4 July 2025
It has been reported that AJ Styles has signed a one-year extension to his WWE contract, and another star’s deal is set to expire very soon.
Fightful Select reported that Styles has told people close to him that he’s recently signed a one-year extension to his contract, but it is not confirmed when it was signed or when his contract will end.
Styles previously said that he wants to retire before he turns 50, and given that he just turned 48 on Wednesday, it seems like this one-year extension could be his last in-ring performer contract.
In other contract news, a different Fightfulreport has said that Karrion Kross’ and his wife, Scarlett’s, current deals are coming to an end soon. It was said that they signed a three-year contract with WWE in August 2022, which would mean their deals expire next month.
Although there has been no confirmation of them signing new deals, the fact that Kross has been featured regularly on TV and had a match against Sami Zayn at Night of Champions, it is likely that they will follow Styles in signing contract extensions.
What’s Next In WWE For AJ Styles And Karrion Kross?
If the reports are true and AJ Styles has signed for another year, fans will be wondering what the 48-year-old will do in his last year with the company. He hasn’t wrestled since June 16, when he defeated JD McDonagh, and if he does plan on retiring soon, will he be looking to put over new rising talent, or will he look for one last major match against a fellow top star?
And for Karrion Kross, it would make sense that, given his recent push that he will sign a new deal and be around for a few more years at least. But if that is the case, what will the company do with him once they know he’s going to be around for a while?
How would you book AJ’s last year in WWE? And what would you do with Kross now that he has some momentum behind him?
