What the World Was Watching: Monday Night RAW – March 8, 1993

The Mega-Maniacs and Jimmy Hart repeat their acceptance of WWF Tag Team Champions Money Incorporated’s challenge for WrestleMania.  Hulk Hogan talks about how he is getting “bionic” Brutus Beefcake ready for the match by banging him in the head a lot with a briefcase.  They also hype a surprise they will give to Money Incorporated soon and Hogan sings “Getting to Know You.”  These early promos are showing that Hogan is losing some of his fastball in this program.

With the end of Prime Time Wrestling the WWF started to farm some feature matches out to All American Wrestling, which aired on Sundays on USA Network.  On the February 28 episode Virgil (2-1) pinned Gary Key with the side Russian leg sweep at 4:03.

What the World Was Watching: Monday Night RAW – January 25, 1993

Repo Man pulls up to the arena in a tow truck, jumping out with Randy Savage’s hat.  Sean Mooney talks with him and Repo Man compares his match with Savage to repossessing a Cadillac.  Excited, Repo Man runs into the Manhattan Center.  It is too bad the arriving in a tow truck for matches never became a Repo Man staple.

Vince McMahon, Rob Bartlett, and Bobby Heenan are the commentary team, taped from the Manhattan Center in New York City.  No explanation is given for why Heenan is now a part of the show after two weeks of failing to get on the air.  Regardless, Heenan improves the commentary quality immediately, hyping the career match main event between Mr. Perfect and Ric Flair.

What the World Was Watching: Royal Rumble 1993

Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby Heenan are in the booth, live from Sacramento, California in what would be their last pay-per-view together as a team.  According to thehistoryofwwe.com, the show drew a sellout crowd of 16,000, with 15,000 of those fans paying to attend.  The pay-per-view drew a 1.25 buyrate (300,000 buys).  The buyrate was less than the previous year but 40,000 more households bought the show than the prior Royal Rumble, showing that the U.S. pay-per-view audience continued to expand.
