Evening Daily News Update: September 18, 2026

Good evening doomers, and welcome to your Evening Daily News Update for Friday, September 18th, 2026. We’re through another week, but tonight we can look forward to another amazing episode of WWE Friday Night Smackdown (preview below) and the final push for the MLB postseason. Last night, Buffalo throttled Detroit for the first half, but Detroit closed the gap, but too little too late. I’m all for more high-scoring affairs if I had to choose between that or low-scoring defensive stalemates, personally.

Friday is usually a loaded day for content, and that theory proves true again, as we have Scott H’s weekly recap of TNA Impact, Kat’s coverage of WWE Main Event, Mike Reviews ITV Wrestling from July 30th, 1988, and Logan’s World Was Watching the July 6th, 1996 episode of WWF Superstars.

WWE Friday Night Smackdown Preview:
We have TWO Money in the Bank Qualifying Matches; Jade Cargill, Alexa Bliss and Jacy Jayne battle for the Women while Randy Orton, Trick Williams, and Rey Fenix compete for the Men’s MITB. Also, Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga take on Shinsuke Nakamura and Kyoki, as well as an appearance from NEW WWE Champion Sami Zayn and a special sit-down interview with Cody Rhodes.
