Ric Flair has dismissed comparisons between Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega’s AEW All In match and his famous 1989 series with Ricky Steamboat. Ospreay defeated Omega in 34 minutes at Wembley Stadium to win the AEW World Championship, prompting some fans to call it the greatest match ever. Flair praised both wrestlers but argued that his work with Steamboat was on another level because of the volume and longevity involved, pointing to hundreds of matches and lengthy time-limit draws during his career. He challenged Ospreay and Omega to produce matches that people are still discussing 37 years later, referencing his celebrated 1989 trilogy with Steamboat.
WWE reportedly planning big changes for Ivy Nile
WWE reportedly has significant creative plans in development for Ivy Nile as questions emerge over her contract status. According to Fightful Select, WWE creative has been working on plans for Nile “for quite a while” that would involve a major change to her presentation. Her current contract is reportedly approaching its expiry this autumn, although there has been no word on a new agreement. The creative discussions are believed to indicate WWE’s interest in retaining her. Nile, who joined WWE following a 2020 tryout, last wrestled on Raw in March 2026 and most recently defeated PJ Vasa on the August 3 episode of Main Event.
From WWE to Author: CJ Perry Announces Debut Novel
CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana in WWE, is set to become a published author with her first book, Bulletproof Angel, scheduled for release in November on Kindle and in paperback. The thriller follows young CIA operative Reagan Ashe, who goes undercover in Russia before becoming the target of a deadly pursuit after memorising the code to a powerful weapon known as the “Skeleton Key”. She is eventually forced to work with her estranged mother, a legendary retired spy. The novel marks Perry’s first published work, adding to a career that has also included professional wrestling, dancing, singing and acting.
