Rey Mysterio addresses retirement timeline: ‘I do understand that opportunities are very little’

WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has addressed his potential retirement, admitting he has recently considered whether his in-ring career could be approaching its end. Speaking on What’s Your Story? With Stephanie McMahon, the 51-year-old said his body has not yet told him it is time to stop and stressed that he still enjoys wrestling more than working behind the scenes. Mysterio is also enjoying his role as AAA General Manager and watching younger talent emerge, while recognising the importance of giving other stars opportunities in the lucha libre spotlight. Although he has no firm retirement timeline, Mysterio acknowledged that the decision could come unexpectedly if he eventually feels the time is right.

Ex-WWE Star To Make Boxing Debut Five Years After Departure

Former WWE star Patrick Clark, best known as Velveteen Dream, is set to make his professional boxing debut on August 29 at Duel: Arena 1 at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida. The former NXT North American Champion will face Pillow Talk podcast host Ryan Pownall in a cruiserweight bout on a card headlined by Mike Perry and Dillon Danis under MMA rules. Clark has wrestled only sporadically since his WWE release in May 2021 and publicly campaigned for a return to the company in 2025, but has not signed with a major wrestling promotion. His move into boxing represents a new direction five years after his WWE departure.

Jim Ross Thanks Fans Ahead Of Wednesday’s Brain Surgery: “I’m Optimistic”

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is scheduled to undergo brain surgery on Wednesday in Norman, Oklahoma, to address excess fluid on his brain. The 74-year-old said doctors will drill a hole in his skull and insert a shunt, with Ross expecting to spend only one day in the hospital. He previously revealed that memory problems and passing out at home led to an almost 40-day hospital stay, and described the procedure as necessary for his recovery. Ross, who has faced several serious health issues in recent years, remains optimistic and hopes to recover in time for AEW All In at Wembley Stadium on August 30.
