Former WWE star Curtis Axel, real name Joseph Hennig, has been arrested in Minnesota and faces multiple charges following an alleged incident at a McDonald’s drive-thru on May 17. Police claim Hennig backed his vehicle into another car, verbally abused a female driver and was found with an open bottle of vodka in his vehicle. Authorities also allege he refused to exit his vehicle, resisted officers and declined a chemical test after being arrested. Hennig has been charged with DWI-related offences, obstructing legal process, violating the open bottle law and disorderly conduct. The 46-year-old, son of WWE Hall of Famer Curt Hennig, was later released pending a court appearance.
Jim Ross Suffered Fall Prior To AEW Double Or Nothing
Jim Ross revealed he endured a difficult weekend leading up to AEW Double or Nothing, suffering a fall at home that caused him to miss his original flight to the event. Ross said he was unable to immediately call for help because his phone was out of reach, forcing him to rebook his travel plans later in the day. After arriving, the 74-year-old also experienced severe back issues in his hotel room, leaving him struggling to move. Despite the setbacks, Ross still travelled to the show and called the match between Jon Moxley and Kyle O’Reilly. Ross said he remains sore and is seeking medical help for ongoing weakness in his legs, which he believes contributed to the fall.
Is Brock Lesnar Expected To Be Done With WWE After Clash In Italy?
Brock Lesnar is expected to remain part of WWE programming beyond this weekend’s WWE Clash in Italy, according to a report from WrestleVotes Radio. While Lesnar is not currently scheduled for the upcoming Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden, WWE reportedly has plans for him after his rematch with Oba Femi on May 31. Lesnar appeared to retire after losing to Femi at WrestleMania 42, only to make a surprise return on Raw earlier this month and reignite the rivalry.
He is also heavily rumoured to be in line for a role at SummerSlam in August, which takes place in his home state of Minnesota. Several wrestling personalities have weighed in on the comeback, with reactions ranging from Eric Bischoff’s criticism to Kevin Nash’s praise, while Cody Rhodes admitted he initially believed Lesnar’s WrestleMania retirement was genuine.
R-Truth Admits He Nearly Quit WWE Before Hall Of Famer Changed His Mind
R-Truth has revealed he was close to quitting professional wrestling during his time in WWE developmental before a conversation with Road Dogg changed the course of his career. Speaking on Six Feet Under with The Undertaker, R-Truth said he was dealing with personal issues and believed wrestling was not for him as his developmental contract neared its end. However, Road Dogg encouraged him to stay, telling him he had what it took to succeed and asking him to give it two more months. R-Truth credited that support for keeping him in the business, a decision that ultimately led to his WWE television debut as K-Kwik and a career spanning more than two decades.
