Evening Daily News Update: May 20, 2026

Good evening doomers, and welcome to your Evening Daily News Update for Wednesday, May 20th, 2026. It has been a wild start to both the Eastern and Western Conference Finals of the NBA Playoffs. While the Spurs and Thunder had a back-and-forth battle that took 2 overtimes to settle, the Knicks and Cavaliers was a different story, as Cleveland held a dominant lead into the 4th and then NY realized they could exploit James Harden, and in 7 minutes, erased a 22 point deficit, the second biggest 4th quarter comeback in post-season history* (dating back to when such numbers were tracked). Tonight, it’s San Antonio visiting OKC for Game 2. I’m predicting an OKC thrashing to send the series to San Antonio tied.

While Game 1 of the ECF took center stage in the comments, there was plenty of chatter about WWE NXT, and if you missed out, Niz has you covered. We also have Jabroniville’s Dream Matches (including Tank Abbott vs Rick Steiner in a “Shoot” fight), and Logan’s World Was Watching the January 22nd, 1996 episode of WWF Monday Night Raw (featuring an awesome angle with Vader and Gorilla Monsoon).

AEW Dynamite (and Collision) Preview:
It’s another 3-hour block of AEW Prime Time Wrestling, with a full lineup of action that includes Darby Allin defending against Speedball Bailey, FTR vs. Roddy Strong and Orange Cassidy for the Tag Titles, some Eliminator Matches, Brisco vs. Ciampa, Jericho teams with the Young Bucks (HAHAHAHAHA) to take on Ricochet, Andrade and Mark Davis, Ospreay will have a banger, and Swerve Strickland shows up.
