Good morning, everyone!
It’s Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend, but it’s time once again for the Morning Daily News Update!
Iyo Sky And Naraku Get Married
Iyo Sky has announced that she has married fellow wrestler EVIL, now known in WWE as Naraku. Sky shared the news on social media, revealing that the pair are now husband and wife, having originally begun their wrestling careers together in Japan. In the statement, Sky said she was excited that they would now be working together in WWE following Naraku’s recent arrival in the company. The relationship had previously been public knowledge in Japan, with reports in 2015 stating the two were engaged.
Baron Corbin’s WWE Return Heavily Speculated
A possible return for former WWE star Baron Corbin is reportedly being discussed behind the scenes, according to new wrestling gossip circulating from industry sources. Corbin spent more than a decade with WWE across both NXT and the main roster before departing the company in 2024. Since leaving WWE, he has primarily competed in Major League Wrestling under the name Bishop Dyer and also appeared for AEW during January tapings in Orlando.
Paul Wight Reportedly Re-Signs With AEW
Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Paul Wight has reportedly signed a new contract with AEW. According to Fightful Select, Wight’s previous deal was set to expire earlier this year, but he is now believed to have agreed to a new contract to remain with the company. Wight joined AEW in 2021 and currently works primarily in a backstage role, though he has previously stated he remains interested in returning to wrestling. His last match took place in 2024, and he recently spoke about potential dream opponents, including Kenny Omega and Darby Allin.
Backstage News On Randy Orton’s WWE TV Absence
Dave Meltzer has revealed that Randy Orton’s absence from WWE television since WrestleMania 42 is reportedly due to the same serious back injury issues that nearly ended his career in 2022. Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said Orton is still dealing with significant long-term back problems following spinal fusion surgery and noted that the injury may have also affected WWE’s decision not to put the Undisputed WWE Championship on him at WrestleMania. Reports previously suggested WWE had internally discussed Orton defeating Cody Rhodes before plans changed late in the build. Orton has not appeared on WWE television since the April 25 episode of WWE SmackDown.
