Top WWE Star Was Not One Of The Names Asked To Restructure Deal
Roman Reigns has reportedly not been asked to renegotiate his WWE contract, despite recent speculation surrounding his reduced advertised schedule. According to Dave Meltzer, WWE’s current contract restructuring efforts are focused on talents whose positions have declined in recent years rather than top-level stars like Reigns, who was recently pulled from several June Raw appearances.
TKO’s Reported Reason For WWE Talent Pay Cuts Revealed
WWE and parent company TKO Group Holdings are reportedly targeting upper mid-card talent for major contract restructures, with some wrestlers being asked to take pay cuts of up to 50 per cent. According to Bryan Alvarez, the company believes many deals were signed under a heavier touring schedule that no longer exists, leading WWE to reassess salaries based on reduced workloads, while talents unwilling to accept new terms could be released.
Bobby Lashley has criticised WWE over the departures of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, calling the decision a “fumble” and arguing The New Day should have been kept for the remainder of their careers. Lashley also suggested the move could ultimately benefit AEW, saying the addition of Kingston and Woods could significantly strengthen AEW’s tag team division and draw fan interest.
