WrestleMania Saturday Evening Daily News Update – 4.18.2026
By Kat Bourne on 18 April 2026
Happy Saturday, Doomsters! It’s WrestleMania Saturday and you know that’s the dominant topic here, so we’re going to focus on it.
The actual show starts at 6 p.m. ET. The entire show will air on ESPN Unlimited in the US and Netflix internationally, but the first hour will simulcast as well on the ESPN2 television network. Scott Keith will be along with your Rant when he finishes the show. We’ll be discussing it heavily in the comments section, so stay away from it (and probably the internet) if you’re trying to avoid what is happening.
In the first hour, we have a six-man tag with WWE World Tag Team Champions The Vision (Logan Paul & Austin Theory) and IShowSpeed facing The Usos and L.A. Knight (preview) as well as the unsanctioned match between Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre (preview).
In the part of the show that will be exclusively on ESPN Unlimited and international Netflix, we have an additional five matches announced. Stephanie Vaquer will defend the WWE Women’s World Title against Liv Morgan (preview). AJ Lee defends the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Title against Becky Lynch (preview) and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions the Irresistible Forces are defending against The Bella Twins (maybe), Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria.
On the men’s side, Seth Rollins and Gunther are colliding. We also have our controversial McAfee-filled main event with Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes defending his gold against Randy Orton (preview). If Orton loses, McAfee says he will leave professional wrestling forever.
And let’s not forget, John Cena will be here to host the show and you might just see a little Danhausen.
For your last-minute WrestleMania preview, don’t forget the review of SmackDown by Niz featuring the Andre Battle Royal, a #1 contender’s match for the Women’s U.S. Title and also a gingerbread man for reasons. AEW Collision aired earlier in the week so it didn’t get buried in the WrestleMania Saturday shadow, so here’s the review of that in case you missed it.
That’s your WrestleMania Saturday preview. Now let’s hop into the comments section and have some sane, friendly discussion about WrestleMania or how cool you are that you aren’t watching WrestleMania. Mean Mike will be back with your morning news and I’ll be back around 5:30 p.m. ET with the evening thread and your full preview of WrestleMania Sunday.
