AAA on Fox Review – 03.07.26
By Niz on 8 March 2026
A busy week for WWE has included: Raw | NXT | Evolve: Succession II | Impact | Smackdown | NXT: Vengeance Day
AAA on Fox comes to the rest of the world on Youtube from The Showcenter Complex in Monterrey, Mexico. The announce team for tonight’s show are Corey Graves, Rey Mysterio, and JBL on match calls and analysis. This show is the go-home show for next week’s Rey de Reyes card and aired directly after the ending of the NXT PLE Vengeance Day. Let’s watch some lucha!
Then, Now, Forever….TOGETHER
Highlights are shown of last week‘s show including El Grande Americano OG’s attack of Pimpinela Escarlata. Pimpi had to go to the hospital so he asked El Grande Americano Nuevo to take his place in the main event, which then saw Americano Nuevo emerge victorious in a completely chaotic four-way.
El Ojo are walking backstage, as El Hijo Del Vikingo has a match tonight. Los Psychos Circus are arriving, as is Santos Escobar.
Dinamico vs El Hijo Del Vikingo
Mysterio admits to not knowing much about Dinamico but he likes his name. Vikingo gets booed out of the building when he emerges with Dorian Roldan and Omos. Vikingo hits a shotgun dropkick at the bell and then puts the boots to Dinamico in a corner. Vikingo holds his boot on Dinamico’s jaw and then slaps him hard in the chest. Vikingo hits a running lariat and an enzgiuri before dropping Dinamico with another shotgun dropkick that gets two. Dinamico wants a roll up and then yanks Vikingo up for a powerbomb that gets two. Dinamico SWEEPS THE LEG and then hits a low dropkick. Dinamico’s cover gets two. Vikingo fires up with a rear roundhouse and then a huge lariat that drops Dinamico to the canvas. Vikingo yanks up Dinamico and then ascends for a Meteora from the top that gets two.
Vikingo bullies Dinamico and then puts him on the second rope to smash him with an enziguri. Vikingo ascends and hits a double stomp to Dinamico’s chest before covering and getting two. Vikingo consults with Roldan but Dinamico fires up with some kicks. Dinamico hits a cutter and Vikingo goes to the floor. Dinamico hits a flying cross-body and both guys are down. Dinamico runs Vikingo back in and hits a roll up but Vikingo rolls through and spikes Dinamico on his head. Dinamico grabs a quick roll up for two, but Vikingo rises out of that and smashes Dinamico with a modified German for two. Vikingo hits a lariat and then hoists Dinamico up so he can drive him back-first into some turnbuckles. Vikingo hits a 630 splash and covers Dinamico for three.
This was a mismatch but Dinamico held his own and was crisp. Vikingo didn’t have his best outing here but perhaps working with someone he wasn’t super familiar with threw him off. Regardless, this was fairly easy in the end for Vikingo and he’s got some momentum heading into the big title match with Dominik Mysterio at Rey de Reyes. 3*
Winner – El Hijo Del Vikingo (630 Splash)
Here’s Dominik Mysterio on the video board to congratulate Vikingo on the win, but next week in Puebla he’s going to show Vikingo what a real champion looks like.
Flammer talks about being the Reina de Reinas and wants to know where her challengers are. Flammer is issuing an open challenge for anyone to come try her at Rey de Reyes.
Rey de Reyes Qualifier: Mr. Iguana vs Abismo Negro vs Santos Escobar vs Psycho Clown
Everyone hits moves to start and Negro ends up yanking Iguana over with a snap suplex that gets one. Psycho comes in and rolls Negro up for one. Psycho hits a Destroyer on Negro before snapping him over with a rana. Psycho slips an Escobar charge and then blasts Negro on the floor with a rolling tackle. Escobar catches La Yesca and then eats an Iguana dropkick. Iguana hits a cross body on Escobar before taking La Yesca back. Iguana runs into Psycho but Escobar comes back in to smash them both. Iguana hits a helicopter rana that sends Negro to the floor. Psycho pets La Yesca and then helps Iguana rope walk to smash Negro with a rana on the floor. Escobar eats a big boot from Psycho who then ascends to wallop Escobar and Negro with a moonsault. Psycho heads back in and he and Iguana go at it. Negro hoists Psycho for a gutbuster and covers him for two. Negro fires off some rights and then yanks up Psycho, but here’s El Fiscal in the aisle before charging in to fight it out with Negro. Fiscal and Negro go to the floor and then into the crowd. They fight a long way into the crowd, and back in the ring Psycho smashes Escobar with a Cheeky Nandos before yanking him up for the Psycho Driver. Psycho doesn’t cover and instead ascends, but here’s the War Raiders to attack Psycho and leave him laying. Pagano emerges with a kendo stick to smash the Raiders around before checking on Psycho. Iguana uses this to hit Escobar with a cross-body that gets two. Iguana hits a rana that gets two. Escobar goes to Iguana’s eyes and then smashes him with a knee. Escobar yanks Iguana up for the Hands of Destiny and the subsequent cover gets three. Escobar is the final qualifier for the Rey de Reyes match.
I love these qualifier matches because even with interference from the outside, it’s always centered on the competitors upcoming matches and in this case, it was no different. Fiscal and Negro have been going at it for a long time now, and the Raiders are the number one contenders to Pagano and Psycho’s tag titles. Escobar joins both Americanos and La Parka in the Rey de Reyes and while I wish there was at least one more AAA person in that match, it should still have a lot of heat. This was a lot of fun. 3.5*
Winner – Santos Escobar (Hands of Destiny on Iguana)
Graves runs down the current Rey de Reyes card that starts next week and runs for three weeks overall.
Pagano and Psycho emerge from the back, but then they realize they don’t know where Murder Clown is. Psycho has some thoughts that Pagano may have engineered Murder’s disappearance, but then they hear a noise from the bathroom. Murder Clown emerges after a flush and the Circus bumps hands even with a reluctant Pagano.
El Grande Americano OG vs La Parka
La Parka is wildly over with the Monterrey crowd. Americano bullies Parka in a corner but Parka escapes and grabs a headlock. Parka trucks Americano and then puts the headlock back on. Americano grabs a gutwrench and covers Parka for two. Parka reverses and gets two. There’s a bunch of near-falls and then an armdrag exchange. Americano barks at a child at ringside who’s wearing a La Parka mask, and then goes to work on Parka back in the ring. Parka slips a charge but Americano chases him down and slaps on the ankle lock. Parka pulls him over and grabs a two count. Parka yanks Americano up for a backbreaker and then waffles him with a dropkick. Parka hits a running high boot and then tries a backflip that misses. Americano yanks Parka up and drives him knee-first onto the announce table. Americano smashes Parka around on the floor before running him back in. Americano hits a Dragon Screw and then pulls Parka over to the post. Americano smashes Parka’s knee into the post before smashing him with right hands. Americano goes for the mask but the ref pulls him off. Parka fires up with some back elbows before clubbering away. Americano hits a kick to the back of Parka’s injured knee, but then Americano goes chest-first into a turnbuckle when Parka slips his charge. They start slugging it out and Parka hits a dropkick and some lariats. Parka hits a facebuster and can’t capitalize with a pin attempt. Parka hits a half-and-half and his bridging cover gets two. Americano fires up with some rights and a backslide that gets two. Parka lifts a knee but eats a rolling Liger kick from Americano. Americano hits a Fisherman’s Buster that gets two. Americano starts pounding on Parka’s knee and then slaps on a half-crab. Americano decides to let it go and ascend but Parka catches him and pounds away with rights. Parka ascends and snaps off a Spanish Fly. Parka finally covers and gets two. Americano grabs a quick roll up for two. Americano slaps on the ankle lock but Parka rolls through and sends Americano face-first into a turnbuckle. Americano tears at the mask and then yanks up Parka for a stacked German suplex that gets three.
This was a hell of a battle. Parka kept fighting from underneath after taking a lot of damage to his knee, and Americano had to really pull out all the stops to get the win. Parka was very much the crowd favorite and there was some major heat every time Americano hit a move. This was a hell of a main event and hopefully Parka is okay for Rey de Reyes. 4*
Winner – El Grande Americano (Stack German suplex)
Post-match sees Santos Escobar emerge to stare at the Rey de Reyes sword. EGA Nuevo comes out as well, and all four Finals competitors are out to keep an eye on each other. The credits roll and we’re out.
This was another fun show in a series of them leading up to Rey de Reyes. We finally have the field for the finals, and it looks to be a good group. The main event was solid as hell and it really seems that EGA-OG has embraced being able to be a hated rudo no matter who he’s in front of. Next week starts the big show and I’m excited. Thumbs up once again for easily the most fun show of the week.
Thanks for reading and commenting. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
