Good morning, everyone!

It’s Monday again, boo! But it’s time for the Morning Daily News Update, yay!

Weather delays impacting WWE Raw production team

Severe weather could impact this week’s episode of WWE Raw, with Bryan Alvarez reporting that “massive weather delays” are primarily affecting the production side of the show. Raw is scheduled to take place at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, while Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is currently experiencing delays and cancellations. Despite the travel issues, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce confirmed the updated lineup earlier on Sunday.

Arrest in Indie Wrestler Murder

A 31-year-old man, Allen Swadley, has been arrested and charged in connection with the murders of independent wrestler Evan “James” Simonds, 28, known as Lars Luger, and his 67-year-old mother, Lori Simonds. Both were shot dead in their California home last week in what police say was also a burglary, with a vehicle stolen from the property. Authorities stated that Swadley had previously dated a member of the family and that firearms were found at his home and in his vehicle. Police confirmed the arrest followed an intensive investigation, while members of the local community have since held a vigil in honour of the victims. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with funeral expenses.

WWE Legend Has Dropped A Lot Of Weight And Plans To Wrestle Again

Paul Wight has shared a health update, revealing he currently weighs 393 pounds and is aiming to reach 360 as part of an ongoing fitness transformation. The AEW personality and former WWE Champion posted gym photos on social media, thanking fans for their long-term support. Wight’s progress follows multiple major surgeries, including procedures on both knees, both hips, and his back, though he has said he is now largely pain-free and has regained full range of motion. While he has not wrestled since 2024 and last competed in AEW in 2023, Wight has stated he is not retired and hopes to return to the ring if he reaches his physical goals.

Britt Baker Is No Longer A Full-Time Dentist Due To Death Threats From Wrestling Fan

Britt Baker has dismissed retirement speculation, stating she “would not say” she’s retired while appearing on a recent red carpet with Adam Glyn. The former AEW Women’s World Champion thanked fans for continuing to talk about her and encouraged them to “keep the chatter up.” Baker also revealed she is no longer working as a full-time dentist, citing safety concerns after overly passionate fans allegedly made threats. She has not appeared on AEW television since November 2024 but is reportedly still under contract for at least another year.
