Evening Daily News Update: January 7, 2026

By Garth Holmberg on 7 January 2026

They like Itchy, they like Scratchy, one kid seems to LOVE the Speedo Man…

Good evening doomers, and welcome to our first Wacky Wednesday of 2026! AEW Dynamite takes center stage, and I think WWE Evolve is still a thing. The Nuggets visit Boston with a 7:00 start time on ESPN, and YOUR New York Knicks look to get back in the win column as they has the Los Angeles Clippers via League Pass. For you NHL fans out there, HBO Max and TNT hosts a double header of Dallas visiting Washington, followed by Chicago hosting St. Louis.

NXT New Year’s Eve has come and gone and Niz has all the details for us, Jabroniville brings us more Dream Matches (including a PWI showcase on Mr. Irrelevant from 2002), Logan’s Watching the September 12, 1994 episode of Raw, and Phrederic took time away from thinking everything stinks to recap All Japan’s World’s Strongest Tag Determination League from November 29th, 2025.

f you missed it over the weekend, Maffew put together a wonderful collaboration of BoD contributors to cover Bridge of Dreams from April 2nd, 1995, a super-show that brought together over a dozen different promotions. Jabroniville, Manjiimortal, Kat, Mike, Rock Star Gary, Alex, YOURS TRULY, and Maffew (of course) bringing it all together, and if you missed out, here’s your friendly reminder.

Tony Khan Responds to Comments Over Injury Warnings
At the end of the day, no one can truly put a stop to high risk moves, but we can all show concern for spots that feel unnecessary and come with greater risk. We all appreciate the men and women for their athleticism and commitment to putting on a great show, but some of us do care about safety as well.

YouTube Spotlight: NES Works Presents Who Framed Roger Rabbit
We’re taking a break from the YouTube wrestling scene today to look at one of the NES games I rented all the time and could NEVER figure out what to do. Developed by Rare and published by LJN, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is one of the more infamous movie licensed games of the 8-bit era, and one of the earliest victims of the wrath of AVGN (so early that he was still the Angry Nintendo Nerd, if memory serves correctly).

The Doomies voting is almost over, but you still have time to be part of the biggest extravaganza in BOD History. Remember to have fun, and vote for me.

As always, enjoy yourselves, keep it clean and come out dooming! – GH #NewYorkForever
