Evening Daily News Update: January 4, 2026 – The Upside Down

Good evening, Doomsters! Whether you’re exhausted from the hours of Wrestle Kingdom or getting ready for the big Raw/Stranger Things crossover, I’d glad you’re here.
Speaking of crossovers, we had a big Blog of Doom crossover today in Maffew’s review of Weekly Pro Wrestling’s Bridge of Dreams from 1995. Eight different writers crossed through the review to review things they are familiar with and some that they aren’t (I reviewed a Pancrase match, if that tells you anything). It’s a testament to just how great our current writing crew is – so many different voices! Though while talking about our current writing crew and its greatness, you also have to look right at Niz. Niz reviewed last night’s Collision because deep down he loves it. I think.
Have you voted for the Doomie Awards yet? Tonight, you should take the plunge and do it. Blog of Doom readers have nominated their favorites (and at times least favorites) from wrestlers to matches to blog writers and we’re down to the finalists. You could be the one that decides John Cena had the match of the year, tell the world you’re tired of the Young Bucks or submits the winning vote in the big Kat vs Garth vs Niz triple threat match. If you’d like some classic wrestling, WWE has uploaded The Wrestling Classic to YouTube. It’s also in the recent round of shows unlocked on Netflix in the U.S. (and a while ago internationally).
