Evening Daily News Update – December 12th, 2025
By Garth Holmberg on 12 December 2025
Good evening, doomers! We’ve reached the end of another week, which means you can rest easy, knowing there won’t be any trolling or shock value header images for the next few nights. Thankfully, I’m already on the mend, though I have that irritation in the back of my throat that’s more annoying than feeling icky. We’ve got some NBA Action tonight as we get ready for the Emirates Semi-Finals tomorrow. NBA TV features a double header of Atlanta @ Detroit and Minnesota @ Golden State. WWE Smackdown is there for our viewing pleasure, though I’ll more than likely read the recap about it than watch it myself.
We’ve got plenty of content to catch up on; Phrederic takes on the task of watching WWE’s Even More Development show, WWE Evolve, and rolls the dice when it comes to the possibility of being forced to watch Nikita Lyons work… Kat’s Smackdown Rewindgives us a look into the Fall of ’99 and what led to the fake burnout of Vince Russo (the burnout being not paid enough, from what we can gather)… Scott Herrin has the latest from TNA Impact, and hopefully the crowds are a little more kind to Vincent and Dutch than they were when they debuted… Mike Reviews FWA (Frontier Wrestling Alliance) Crunch from early 2006, including a very young, less hobgoblin version of the Man Gravity Forgot… Logan’s World Was Watching the August 15th, 1994 episode of Raw(featuring The 1-2-3 Kid vs Owen Hart, and a reminder that the Kid was left off the card in favor of the weird Mabel/Double J match)… Lastly, yours truly brings you the November 25th, 1989 episode of AWA All-Star Wrestling, featuring THE PINK ROOM OF DOOM (the secure location to ensure no interference would take place… and for budget reasons). I know that’s a lot of content, and not everything is for everyone, but if you happen to give any of them a click, feel free to leave a comment, whether it’s a nice job or a funny story on someone/something on the show. With the email threads no longer a thing, it would be nice to see engagement outside of the usual WWE vs AEW bullshit as far as wrestling conversations are concerned.
John Cena’s Final Match to Headline Saturday Night’s Main Event
Contrary to earlier reports, Cena will go last, which seems like the only logical choice when you have no time limit restricting you. I know the hot conversation about Cena is “how fast does he turn around and take a fat paycheck to return”, and honestly, I don’t think that will happen, at least as far as getting in the ring for another match. It’s rare to see someone go out on their terms, and knowing the dedication it takes to look like John Cena as he approaches an age where it’s becoming harder and harder, I don’t think he wants to be seen as a lesser form of who he was. I’m not going to lie and say I was ever a big John Cena fan, but I will enjoy the show tomorrow night, and hopefully everyone else can do the same.
YouTube Spotlight: John Cena’s Unmatched Make-a-Wish Legacy
One wish at a time, John Cena has left an incredible mark by granting more than 650 with the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Tom Rinaldi provides a moving look at the 17-time World Champion’s unmatched impact outside the ring.
As always, enjoy yourselves, keep it clean, and come out dooming! – GH
